Meet the TMI Team

  • Hannah Lee Tungate

    PRESIDENT & CREATIVE PRODUCER (she/her)

Hannah is a soprano, producer, arts administrator, and the founder of Tenth Muse Initiative. Driven by her passion for performing works of marginalised composers, Hannah dedicates her spare time to research and advocacy, through Women’s Composers Project. With a penchant for exploring lesser-known pieces, Hannah embraces the challenge of early baroque cantatas and 21st century art songs.

Her journey as a producer, which began during her studies at UWA Conservatorium of Music, has thrived through her work with TMI. The successful debut of The Priestess of Morphine has further ignited Hannah's excitement for future productions and projects. Hannah's unwavering dedication to the amplification of underrepresented voices will continue to drive her artistic endeavours.

She also currently works full-time at Musica Viva Australia as the WA State Coordinator.

Hannah is available for consultation about diversifying repertoire and other resources for ensembles and individuals.

Based in Perth, Chelsea has a First-Class Honours degree in performance from the University of Western Australia. She is currently completing her Masters of Music (Orchestral Performance), studying with Andrew Nicholson, Principal Flute of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. Her research project focuses on promoting the programming of diverse repertoire in undergraduate recitals, and her recent Master’s recital explored works for flute and piano written by women.

Chelsea enjoys being a part of the Perth music community; she is a casual musician with WASO, Principal Flute of the West Coast Philharmonic Orchestra, and regularly performs with ensembles such as the West Australian Wind Symphony, the Orchestra Collective and South Perth Chamber Orchestra. She is also an avid choral singer, and currently sings with the Chapel Choir of St George’s College.

    SECRETARY (she/her)

Bella is a classically-trained musician and music educator. Since graduating with a Bachelor of Music for Classical Voice at the UWA Conservatorium of Music in 2021, she has committed to teaching and professional choral singing development.

She has experience in an array of musical projects, including the semi-chorus of WA Opera’s ‘Elijah’, various UWA lunchtime concert performances, and has most recently been accepted as a member of the National Youth Choir of Australia.

She has an interest in lesser-known works by those whose validity was overshadowed. Her exploration of works includes those by women, transgender and non-binary composers, with a passion for their music from the Romantic Era to the present.
